PM sessions about the Energy Sector

For those of us in mid-Michigan here is an opportunity.

A week from tomorrow (Tuesday 5/15) the Michigan Capital Area Chapter of PMI is hosting two talks about managing projects in the energy sector.  I just registered and will be there - I'm working with an energy utility firm right now.  Here is a link and a description from MCAC-PMI:

First Presentation: Power Managers - Russ Draper & Austin Williams Home Energy LLC;
Russ Draper and Austin Williams of Home Energy LLC (Middlebury, IN) will discuss renewable energy projects managed as a small operation and the need to incorporate technology into the process to assist their projects as they grew in size, complexity, and volume.
Bio:
Renewable energy consultant Russ Draper of Home Energy LLC, Middlebury, has been working in sales and consulting for over 17 years. He has been sales manager for the Middlebury, Indiana, based renewable energy provider for the last year.
Draper is responsible for the development and continued growth of residential and commercial sales. As a 20 year resident of the Goshen and Middlebury area, he has personal knowledge of the residential and commercial market in the surrounding area.
Draper holds a bachelor’s degree from Trinity College in Deerfield, Illinois. He and his wife of almost 32 years now, Gail, have three children and are the proud grandparents of one granddaughter.
Austin Williams is the financial manager for Home Energy LLC. Williams works to secure funding, perform detailed analysis, and create financial proposals for residential and commercial renewable energy solutions. He designs renewable energy systems to maximum efficiency and comply with NEC code. He has worked to develop the CRM backbone for Home Energy’s operations.
Williams remains fascinated with the creation and development of new technologies that profoundly affect the world around us. He enjoys working closely with customers to increase our renewable impact across Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Purdue University. He is the father of two children.

Second Presentation: The GM Volt Project - Jason Ditman Volt Assistant Chief Engineer
Jason Ditman is currently the Hybrid Propulsion Assistant Chief Engineer for the Chevrolet Volt.  He holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois.  Jason has worked at GM for 19 years as a Transmission Noise and Vibration Development Engineer, Hydraulic Controls Engineering Group Manager and Electro-Mechanical Controls  Engineering Group Manager.
Appetizers will be served at 5:30 pm and available throughout the program.
