Newsblast

A couple of news items.

1.  I've been sick this week and have not been posting - sorry to disappoint . . .

2.  Charles is wrapping up his Michigan project next week.  The bad news is that I will miss our close collaboration, the good news is that Charles will evangelize AboutProjectManagement.com in a new organization :)

Reminder:  We are always looking for guest posts here at AboutProjectManagement.com.  Reach out to alancasey@alumni.northwestern.edu to inquire.

Charles is back home and doing well

I've received work that Charles, having been hit hard by a virus, is back home and doing well.  I'm looking forward to seeing him next week.

Thank G*d for medical science!

Charles is hospitalized

Charles, my co-contributor on AboutProjectManagement.com, is in the hospital today.  The doctors are ordering tests and working on a diagnosis.  Please send Charles your best thoughts and prayers as we wait to hear more.

Thanks!

Big News - Adding a second blogger to APM

Charles Moone, a senior PM with experience in the executive suite, has agreed to join me here at AboutProjectManagement.com.  Look for Charles' to introduce himself in his initial post sometime in the next few days.

This means that AboutProjectManagement is growing to become a community of PMs blogging about their experiences and sharing their knowledge.

PS  If you are interested in blogging here, reach out to me via a comment and we'll chat.

Requirements Elicitation Techniques

Charles Moone, a fellow PM, put together a list of sources and techniques for use in requirements elicitation this afternoon.  Charles has graciously allowed me to share:

Requirements Elicitation – Places to look and methods to be used
  • Business Cases
  • Charter
  • Facilitated meeting
  • Document Inspection
  • Review docs of competing products
  • Brain storming
  • Document analysis
  • Focus groups
  • Interface analysis
  • Observation
  • Prototyping
  • Requirements workshop
  • Reverse engineering
  • Survey
Thanks Charles!  Great list.

PS  You should blog here!
