Followup Beeminder.com

I continue to be impressed with Beeminder.com.  The simple daily interaction takes seconds and inspires me to over-perform.

Each morning at 9AM, Beeminder sends me an email showing me recent updates.  I reply with the first line looking like '5 256 "Any comment I want to make"'.  Within a few minutes, Beeminder sends me a second mail with a link to an updated chart.  Although I am obese, I am very proud of the 18 pounds I've lost in the last couple of months.  Here is my current chart.

My Current Beeminder Weight-loss Chart

Shortly after my first Beeminder post, Daniel Reeves from Beeminder.com reached out and we have been corresponding about a couple of things:

1.  I should explain Beeminder's financial commitment model; and
2.  How can we leverage this awesome tool to motivate a project team to commit?

Cool Tool - Beeminder

I came across a write up of Beeminder.com and gave it a try.  This is a tool I just need to share.

BeeMinder (Sounds like Reminder) is really a service that helps you track data.  From the site: "BeeMinder tracks your progress towards your goals."

In my trial, I set up a goal of one pound of weight loss per week until Christmas.  Yes, I know that I am obese - but look - I'm making progress with Beeminder's help.  Here is my current chart:

The "Yellow Brick Road" describes my goal with upper and lower controls.  In this case, the lower control doesn't really come into play, but if I go over the top of the yellow brick road - then I've broken my commitment.
