IIL's Virtual Professional Deveopment Day

The International Institute for Learning (IIL) is where I initially trained for my PMP.  This means that ILL has been around a long time (I certified in 1999).

Agile is used for traditional projects in traditional environments.  (Yes, it is a discipline recognized by PMI)

• People can get tangled up in “traditional” terminology and forget other ways of expressing the same thing
• Agile Story Point is equivalent to traditional FeatureStory Point cost and time are equivalent to Feature cost and time

Jesse talks about renegotiation with a client who wants more “stuff” (my word).  My interpretation of his process is:

1.      Arrange schedule and costs by Story Points

2.      Manage Scope Creep by  calculating impact of new Story Points

3.      Manage changes to scope and schedule by adding costs per story point or removing story points

I watched the GoToMeeting webinar and I am glad that I did.  The webinar discusses some research into critical discussions at five key project times.  The research is available at silencefails.com.  As you can guess from the site's name, the general message is that we, as project managers, must engage and do it well when one of the five situations present themselves.

Chasing PDUs: Free On-Demand PDUs at the PMXPO

In this first edition of "Chasing PDUs" we highlight the PMXPO at Gantthead.com.
