I believe that projects are everywhere, ubiquitous, and that it is in the thousands of projects I see everyday that I can have the greatest impact. I work to be a constant source of positive reinforcement and encouragement to everyone working on projects, posting six days a week to share good news, good thoughts, and great projects with my project peers.

Let's Try Emotional Correctness
I love this inspiring TED Talk from Sally Kohn. I'm aware that people I love and respect have very different political views, and sometimes mussel myself to avoid stress. Sally calls for Emotional Correctness, which I take to be the intersection of Political Correctness and Emotional Intelligence.
Great job Sally!

Tools: The Power Pose
Today's Tool tip is the "Power Pose." I learned this from Amy Cuddy's Ted Talk (find it here). Holding a "Power Pose for two minutes makes you more confident and capable. Here is the "Superman" (Amy uses "Wonder Woman - but . . . . . )
| Superman (AKA Wonder Woman) Pose Try it! 2 Minutes! |
My favorite is sitting at my desk, leaning back, and locking my fingers together behind my head. Two minutes is a great mental break, and Amy assures us that only good things come from this exercise.

This post points you to an awesome TED talk by Amy Cuddy. The talk is called "Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are."
Key take away is - "We are influenced by our non-verbals (Body Language)."
Note: Priceless story starts at about 16:00 - but watch the whole thing (21:03) it is well worth your time
Great talk! Told you so . . .

During the Joys of Engineering Leadership Video that I linked last week - they mentioned a tech talk by Dan Pink. I found and watched that TED Talk and recommend it to all project managers. Here is the video:
